  1. 2013 Southern Regional ChampionshipsEdmond, OK Field Marshal Instructions

  2. Field Marshal The best job in any tournament! Thank you for your service as a field marshal for the 2013 Southern Regional Championships. If you have served as a field marshal before in other soccer tournaments you should know there differences in procedures for Regionals.

  3. Differences from other tournaments: • Field marshals do not check player cards, this is done by the referees • Referees arrive at the fields well before game time – rarely do you have to worry about referees. • Game cards (form referee records scores and other game information) must be signed by representatives of both teams following match. • Completed game cards are picked up by runners. • Player cards are held together with a numbered band that must be cut only if a card is to be removed.

  4. Sample Player Cards

  5. More Differences from other tournaments: • Player’s Sideline access is strictly limited. • On the bench side of the field the only people allowed are: • Players • Coaches – maximum of 4 • Field marshals • State representatives – these are your friends • Referee assessors • Tournament officials

  6. And Finally Differences from other tournaments: • College Coach Areaswill be indicated by broken blue lines painted outside the touch line, stretching from the corner flag up to the 18 yard line of every field. • There are 3 tents on every field; 1 for each team and 1 tent for field marshals, referee assessor, & other personnel. • College coaches are free to watch the game from within the college coaches area. You needn’t address these college coach recruiters unless they fail to display their credentials or if they interfere with the game.

Paper Work • Game card should be in your Field Marshal’s box if not Coordinator will bring it to your field. • Check game card to assure it is for the correct game • Give game card to referee prior to game – you may be asked to keep it until after the game. • Hold player cards during game – you may have to ask referee if you may.

There must ALWAYS be a chair available under the Field Marshal Tent for you.If there are others sitting at your table and/or in your chair, notify Tournament Staff.
