  4. A.L.F. Enterprise Surgeon Laser Machine Current Technology Of Midline Sternotomy Midline sternotomy is one of the most critical phases of open heart surgery. It consists of a vertical skin incision made from the suprasternal notch towards the xiphpoid process with subsequent longitudinal dissection of the sternum using an oscillary cast cutter. The incision itself may have unlimited consequences peri and postoperatively and meticulous incision is mandatory to avoid early and long run complications.
