  2. There are five different groups of animals with vertebrates. Mammals Reptiles Fish Amphibians Birds

  3. Most birds have these characteristics They have feathers. Birds are warm-blooded. They have two wings, two legs, and a beak. Birds give birth to babies hatched from eggs. Birds breathe through lungs.

  4. Macaws are birds. They are a large type of parrot. They live in the canopy and the emergent layers of the rainforest.

  5. The Macaw lives in the rain forest. There are many kinds of Macaws. They have bright colors. Most Macaws have lots of colors like blue, yellow, and green.

  6. The Macaw uses it’s bill to grab its food. Its bill is very curved. It likes to eat fruit, seeds, and nuts. It loves seeds the most.

  7. The Macaw us about 35 inches long. That is almost one yard. Male and female birds look the same. Two of its toes point backward and two point to the front.

  8. Macaw It is found in rainforests, open forests, woodlands, mangrove forests, orchards and in the tropical rainforest of South America. They like the warm climate. They can blend into colorful flowers.

  9. Macaw This active bird has a shrill call. People have taught the Macaw to speak. It can fly and chatter while eating.
