Masonic Golf CH Parade route PO 18th green Town Hall L&C Outdoor theater Senior Center Golf Clubhouse doubles as local restaurant, and venue for receptions. Mill Restaurant Swimming Hole Indian Creek forms water feature and backdrop for downtown activities.   3. Theme: BUILDING COMMUNITY Citizens form local co-ops to contract with local providers for goods and services. Clearly defined urban area bounded by agricultural greenbelt Clearly defined neighborhoods Integrated and shared activities between school and community Compact community scale People are Stella’s greatest resource. Enable individuals and community groups to serve local needs, fulfill parts of this plan, coordinate with other groups. Centralized services enable chance person-person interactions. Theme: A SENSE OF PLACE Maintain ‘small town’ character by keeping agricultural ‘green-belt’ close to town GG GG Use hillside as natural backdrop GG Reclaim Indian Creek and springs as natural heritage for people to enjoy.   5. Theme: OPPORTUNITY- ECONOMIC VITALITY Local citizen co-ops contract with local providers for goods and services. Give local farmers, workers, and professionals the opportunity to meet local needs. Keep money moving within the community- local businesses, energy production Variety of housing types for variety of lifestyles and needs Use everything as a resource Keep development out of floodplain Enable Triway School to fully develop and be flexible to meet changing needs Add value to residential properties by overlooking green space, golf course School and Town share facilities and serve each other. Combined backyard play and neighbor gathering spaces. Local activities – golf, alternative golf, sports, theater, hiking, equestrian trails and events. Plan efficient and compact infrastructures. Concentrated town center enables chance person-person interactions for sharing ideas and opportunities. Prevent future costs by building strong social structure and protecting environment.   7. Theme: ENERGY and ENVIRONMENT Expansion areas oriented NS-EW for better passive solar Constructed Wetlands to clean wastewater before discharge Well insulated houses and buildings. Anaerobic composting of trash (out of town) Compact walkable community Enhanced water infiltration by low % paved area, rain gardens to capture and filter runoff Recycle all wastes Solar collectors on ag buildings Initiate community/school run environmental monitoring programs. Save remnants of native landscape. Local food production – less processing and shipping Fertilize with organic compost from anaerobic waste site. Control non-native species, plant native species.
