  1. THE DESTINY OF FALSE TEACHERS(Lessons on 2 Peter 2) A Principle: God Know the Difference Between the Righteous and the Unrighteous (2 Peter 2:4-11)

  2. THREE EXAMPLES • The angels who were not spared (Jude 6) • They sinned • He cast them down to hell • They are in pits of darkness • They are reserved unto judgment GOD IS SEVERE

  3. THE OLD WORLD AND NOAH(Genesis 6-9) • The Difference: • The Old World was NOT spared; but Noah was saved (Gen. 7:7; 1 Pet. 3:20-21) • The Reason: • Noah was a preacher (and a “liver”) of righteousness (Ps. 119:172) • But they wereungodly… GOD IS STRICT

  4. SODOM, GOMORRAH, AND LOT(Genesis 18-19) • God and the Cities – He condemned them – Rom. 1:24-32; Gen. 19:5; Ezek. 16:46; Jude 7; they are an example – but is it heeded? • God and Lot – He delivered him just – upright – the Bible is the standard. • Lot and the Cities – He dwelt among them – He observed them – He was tortured by their sins. GOD PUNISHES SIN

  5. AN IMPORTANT PRINCIPLE • GOD KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!! (2 Peter 2:9-11) • This one thought deserves a great deal of attention. • He always knows what He is doing – about everything and everyone – whether we understand it or not. • Deuteronomy 29:29; Isaiah 55:8-9.

  6. TWO THINGS GOD CAN DO(verse 9) • DELIVER the godly out of temptations. This is His part [Noah, Lot] (1 Pet. 1:6) • RESTORE the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished. HE CAN DO BOTH OF THEM! LEAVE THESE TWO THINGS UP TO HIM!

  7. WHY THE UNJUST ARE RESERVED • They walk after the flesh • They walk in the lust of uncleanness • They despise government • They are presumptuous • They are self-willed • They are not afraid to speak evil of dignities

  8. A WORD OF CAUTION • Learn a lesson from the angels…Do not bring a railing accusation before the Lord. • Learn the lessons of these verses: • From the three examples • From the important principle • God can deliver me! • Shall I choose the quality of God’s way or the destiny of false teachers?
