Status of MKUZA II Process (1) • After Completion of the ToR (end of September), the following have been implemented • Commissioned 17 studies • 5 are completed (Population dynamics, Value Chain Analysis, and Science & Technology, HIV and AIDS, Youth Entrepreneurship) • 12 studies are still ongoing • In response to MKUZA process, UNESCO has sponsored a study on “Conservation of Stone Town” • Completion not later than 15th Dec
Status of MKUZA II Process (2) • Formation of the Drafting Team • Divided members in to three Clusters • Growth and Reduction of Income Poverty • Social Services and Wellbeing • Good Governance and National Unity • Launched the Drafting team (Early October)
Status of MKUZA II Process (3) • The three teams have so far • Carried out part of the literature review • Presented the first draft of the Matrices • Broad Outcomes • Goals • Operational Targets • Core Cluster Strategies • Intervention Packages • Key Actors • Refinement of the matrices ongoing
Emerging Issues (1) • MKUZA II should be ready in time so as to inform the next Budget Cycle. • Regular capacity building arrangements to the DT is necessary ( in harmonising cross cutting issues, e.g. population issues, HIV and AIDS; and in understanding the modified structure of MKUZA II (Core Cluster Strategies Vs Intervention Package).
