  1. Do now – What is the next Step for the lab? • Make observations on your plants. Are they both growing? Measure the length of the plants if possible. • Weeds, are they to be added? • Make detailed observations. • Re-read the lab write up and determine what the next procedure is.

  2. Reminder of Homework • For Tuesday Chapter 11 - Read pages 280 – 296, stopping at Benefits of Biodiversity • Be prepared for a test on chapter 9 & 10 & 11, after mid-terms (meaning not next week, but definitely the following week). • Where do we stand with Cubic Mile of Oil?

Homework • For Tuesday Chapter 11 – Re-read pages 280 – 296, to Benefits of Biodiversity. • Read 296 (starting from Benefits of Biodiversity)to 299 stopping at Biodiversity generates economic… • Be prepared for a test on chapter 9 & 10 & 11, after mid-terms (meaning not next week, but definitely the following week).

  6. New Material • Explain Species Diversity: • The number of variety of species in a particular region. • As a table, explain how diversity is playing a role in the tiger’s demise. • Also, explain the importance of Biodiversity.

  7. New Material • Explain genetic diversity – is the differences in DNA composition among individual organisms. • Why is this important? • Think about the impact of the Amish and genetic drift.
