  2. What is and isn’t working about the seminar series? • Developed questionnaire • Got approval from the human ethics committee • Created survey on Qualtrics • Emailed the seminar list and asked them to complete it

  3. Who responded? 40 people total

  4. What attracted you to/ interested you about this seminar series? “All about teaching with technology from a local perspective” keeping up with technology that online and distance teachers felt that the series was of particular relevance to their role. learning from the experiences of others. that staff with roles supporting teaching staff (e.g. SLSS, ITS, CAD) wanted to learn about the needs of teaching staff. “Distance and online learning are my main form of teaching” “interested in finding innovative ways to enhance teaching; hear what colleagues are doing” “I am a senior academic learning advisor at SLSS. It is very interesting for us to learn about all the different technologies and how they are being used by academic teaching staff across the university “

  5. 80% encouraged a colleague to attend the series 63% plan to use information in courses 73% feel interests of the group reflected 64% met new people

  6.  When you have not attended, what has been your primary reason:

  7. 44% have never been to the wiki 34.4% Been to wiki to view announcements 19% watched video when missed live 37.5% It’s nice to know videos available but have never viewed 59% would be useful to discuss issues raised online following seminars 59% Useful to access past discussions about teaching 17% would like info on how to use discussion forum 24% online forum not likely to be useful

  8. What does this seminar series offer, if anything, that you can’t get elsewhere in the University? “A University wide perspective on teaching and learning. Access to enthusiastic knowledgeable people from outside my faculty talking on L&T.” • Brings a range of people together • Occurs at a predictable time • Facilitated by the group “regular meeting time, organised by people in the seminar”

  9.  Briefly describe something that you would like to see improved or changed or something that you didnot like Timing was hard as this is my heavy teaching term • Problems with scheduled time 2. Sessions more inclusive of: student perceptions, disciplines, other campuses More non-science examples, please Better accessibility for those on satellite campuses At the academic sessions, some student representation would be really interesting

  10. Questions? Thoughts? Comments?
