Summarize the book… (one big fat paragraph for each question). This will be a multipage document.

    3. Questions to answer in complete sentences. Must write a big and detailed paragraph for each question. 1. (10pts.) Summarize the point of the book in terms of what the central character learns at the end. 2. (10 pts.) In the end, the central character has an epiphany where he/she comes to a greater understanding about who they are in the world and how the events in their life have affected them. This is a specific moment in the novel. Summarize the scene and give the most telling quote where the character reveals the epiphany. 3. (10 pts.) Find a passage that defines the central character and his/her attitude toward life, love, loss, whatever the basic theme reveals. Write down the passage and explain how it reflects the character attitude and about what. Be sure to clearly state the theme.

    4. 4. (5 pts) In every story, a seemingly insignificant character reveals a great truth to the central character. Describe the character and what he/she has to teach. If you are unable to find such a character, focus on another character who plays a more significant role throughout the story. 5. (5 pts.) Analyze the significance of the title. In the plot, how is the meaning/purpose of the title revealed? Explain the scene and how it clarifies the meaning. 6. (5 pts.) How does the novel end and how does this help you better understand the theme? 7. (30 pts.) Copy three quotes from the novel that best represent the theme. For each quote, write a well constructed breakdown, which includes: a. The context (what is going on in the story where the quote appears) and those involved. b. What the quote reveals about the universal truth or the central character. c. Include the page number where the quote is found.
