  2. World War II: Sides Divided • World War II began September 1st, 1939. • With trouble in Europe brewing, sides were divided between the Ally powers and the Axis powers.

Major Allied Powers (the ones you need to know) United Kingdom (think Great Britain) The United States of America The Soviet Union (Modern day Russia) France Canada Minor Allied Powers (you will not be quizzed on these, so I’m only listing a few) Denmark Norway Poland Mexico Turkey Allied Powers by year 1944 Use the arrow in the bottom right corner to navigate back to the map slide.

Major Axis Powers (the ones you need to know) Nazi Germany Italy Japan Minor Axis Powers (you will not be quizzed on these) Hungary Romania Bulgaria Yugoslavia When you done with this slide, click on the house to go to the quiz.
