24. Part 1: Career and College Planning
Candidates utilize NYJobZone/CareerZone throughout program to:
complete on-line self-exploration and assessments to identify individual strengths, skills and talents to guide in decisions about appropriate career and college choices;
complete on-line activities to identify careers of interest; education and training requirements; employment opportunities; and employment outlook;
learn what employment opportunities exist in their local area; and
complete a portfolio.

25. Part 2: Instruction
Candidates receive classroom instruction and homework assignments within each of the four NWRC test areas. Strategies include:
computer research and document creation;
case studies to share and discuss workplace situations regarding ethical and professional expectations;
role playing and teamwork to accomplish tasks and solve problems; and
small and large group discussions.
Guest lecturers from academic and employment sectors attend each class to engage candidates in discussions surrounding career and college readiness.

26. Part 3: Targeted Interview Seminar or Employment Seminar
Targeted Interview Seminar
Held after completion of Assembling Industry: Manufacturing and Education (AIME). This training program incorporates NWRC preparation program and technical training.
Students who complete NWRC and training program interview with employers for potential jobs. Sponsored at The Development Corporation.
Employment Seminar
Held each spring and winter for NWRC graduates. Business Advisory Council and OneWorkSource partners review student resumes and provide students with an opportunity to practice interviewing skills. Clinton Community College is also available to meet with students interested in postsecondary.
