Objectives of the participants: • to understand the idea of the Diploma Programme • to get information concerning the contents of the Diploma Programme • to understand peculiarities of IB Diploma educational process • analyze the assessment system in the Diploma programme • analyze the requirements IB teachers should meet • See the results of the students who study under the Diploma Programme.

  3. Training organization and lay-out: • meeting with the deputy head of the regional IB office and IB trainer • indoor round-table classes with the IB trainerat J. Knox Center • a visit to the International Baccalaureate school in Geneva Подведение • final meeting with the head and the deputy head of the regional IB office and one of the IB founders

  4. The First Meeting During the meeting with International Baccalaureate trainer and deputy head of the regional International Baccalaureate office we got the notion of the following training, became acquainted with the trainer, marked-up the most urgent issues we need to know about IB.

Knox Center During the indoor round-table classes we received huge volumes of information concerning International Baccalaureate philosophy and mission; peculiarities of IB educational process organization; studied the models of curriculum planning, including the core and six subject groups; analyzed the learners’ profile and consequently teachers’ profile as the element connecting all International Baccalaureate programmes; analyzed the assessment system used in the Diploma Programme; discussed the possible ways of supporting teachers in the process of their professional training aimed at IB teacher professional competence development.

  7. IB School Visit

  8. IB School Visit During our visit to International Baccalaureate school in Geneva we saw practical realization of the Diploma Programme. We have visited several classes of different teachers which gave us opportunity to have an idea of real educational IB practice. During our school visits we also saw realization of the rest two IB programmes, which gave us opportunity to compare IB programmes realization at different stages of educational process.

  9. Final Meeting

  10. Final Meeting During our final meeting with the head and the deputy head of the regional office and one of the IB founders we drew conclusions about our training.

  11. It should be mentioned that during the training we got the questions which constantly occur in our everyday work with IB teachers answered. Thus the training has stimulated more effective assistance to the teachers in the process of their training, aimed at IB teacher professional competence development.
