She played a role in breaking barriers for women with her talent and accomplishments in sports Annie set a ton of records in sharp shooting for example, Shooting the ashes off a cigarette held in someone's mouth After a train wreck Annie suffered a spinal injury that required five operations and even left her partially paralyzed for a while, after recovery she kept breaking records Annie Oakley

  6. Barbra Buttrick career record: 30-1-1 she fought what is believed to be Florida’s first female boxing match, defeating Gloria Adams at the North Miami Armory. Was one of the best women's boxers

  7. Venus and Serena Williams • Both grew up in Compton playing in the worst conditions possible. • They are both self taught because they did not have the money for lessons. • They beat all odds and became two of the best tennis players in the world

  8. There is no crying in baseball! • While the men were away in WWII women from all around the country came to play professional baseball. • The league was so successful that it still played on a few years after the war.
