  1. All You Need to Know About the IAS Exam The Indian Administrative Service Examination (IAS) is one of the most challenging tests to crack. A survey says that the IAS exam is the next most difficult exam, just after the French Civil Services Test. Cracking the exam will make you become a member of the esteemed Indian Civil Services group. You could get the other services such as the IPS, IRTS, IRPS, IRS etc on getting through the IAS Test. Stages within Indian Administrative Service Exam The IAS exam includes 3 levels, which includes Prelims, Mains Examination and Interview. 1)The Preliminary Stage (Prelims CSAT) The Prelims CSAT is carried out in May each year. This exam is carried out for 200 marks consisting of mandatory subjects to all the applicants. Referring previous paper helps to gain good knowledge on the IAS exam. 2) The Mains Examination The mains examination is the second phase of the IAS exam. You have clear the preliminary step to appear for the Civil Service Mains Examination. The Preliminary is for qualifying anyways and scores obtained in the Prelims CSAT will not be counted in the Mains for the final standing. This examination is carried out by the UPSC around the last week of October every year and it will be carried out for 20-25 days. The Mains Exam is of 2000 marks and you have to clear the compulsory papers nevertheless. 3) Interview The final stage of the IAS exam is your interview stage. The maximum score in the IAS exam is 2300 (2000 marks Mains + 300 marks interview).
