  1. The fawn was at the edge of the meadow on a lovely, crisp autumn morning. It was another ordinary day for her. She greeted all her friends in the morning, including the great bald eagle. “What a nice day,” he said. The wise old eagle rambled on as the fawn ate, until a bright, colorful glow caught her eye.

  2. The fawn couldn’t resist the curiosity and had to go investigate. She left the eagle behind and crept deeper into the yellow orange painted forest. The forest is very beautiful the fawn thought to herself. She was a beauty herself but she never gave herself credit for it. Everyone admired her sleek spotted fur coat and long slender shoulders.

  3. Now there was also a blue jay, heading in the same direction wondering what the commotion was also. They both reached a huge den tree engulfed in flames at the same moment. The fawn hurried to save as many of the newborn critters as possible.

  4. The fawn asked the blue jay for help. “No, way he replied, I'm not messing up these beautiful shiny feathers. They’re much more gorgeous than you and I jus had them cleaned too.” The rude bird just perched up in a tree near by watching as the little fawn went back to the blazing tree to get the last baby squirrel.

  5. After the fire finally died down, animals from all over thanked the fawn. This made the blue jay very jealous. What the fawn had on the inside couldn't come close to the beauty the bird thought he had.
