  1. Good Samaritan Hospital Dietetic Internship • I am interested in becoming a Registered Dietitian, focusing mainly in a clinical work setting • Exp. Hospital, Nursing Home, or other Health-Care Facilities • Being a R.D. To me means that I am a the highest level in this area of health service. I would be a true professional.

About the Internship • Accredited by ACEND • Annual Enrollment: 6 • Enrollment: September • Program Length: 10 months • Emphasis: Nutrition Services in Acute Care • Estimated Total Tuition: $500 • Financial Stipend for Full Time Non Degree: $6450 • Other Stipend: Parking • Computer Matching: April

  3. About the Internship (cont.) • 43 week program • Interns achieve a minimum of 1200 hours of supervised practice • The internship is divided into three major segments: Food Service Management, Clinical Nutrition Services, and Specialty/Community/Affiliations

Internship Requirements • One must agree to follow the companies Code of Ethics • Background Check • Physical and up-to-date Immunization • Must be a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics • Required to become certified in Food Protection (Serv Safe) • Responsible for own Housing and Transportation

Application Information and Requirements Education • All applicants must receive a baccalaureate degree and fulfill the didactic requirements of ACEND • Overall grade point average should be 3.0 or better • Grade point average in major courses should be 3.5 or better. • Grade point average in the sciences must be at least 3.0

Work Experience • Most work experience has application to the field of dietetics • Paid work experience is given stronger consideration than experience gained through volunteer work Other Information • Must have strong Application Letter as well as Reference Letters • Application fee is $100 • Due date is in February

  7. How this Internship will Help Me • After graduating from college I will need to complete an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program • This internship will meet those requirements and will allow me to sit for the Dietetic Registration National Examination
