  2. Today’s plan • Greeting • Review HW: QL Sheet • Dime Questions • Review Practice Quiz / NaQ • Homework / Questions • Clean-up

  3. All darts are concave. All trapezoids and kites are convex. All isosceles trapezoids are trapezoids. All parallelograms are isosceles trapezoids. All rhombuses are parallelograms and kites. All rectangles are parallelograms and right trapezoids. All squares are rhombuses and rectangles. Taxonomy of Quadrilaterals

  4. Practice Quiz • On a half sheet of paper • Name, date, period at top-right corner. • Sketch these quadrilaterals (not drawn to scale): • Name the most specific kind of quadrilateral that each one must be.

  5. Homework • For Thursday: • Prove that the base angles of a proper isosceles trapezoid are equal. • Given: Proper isosceles trapezoid ABCD,with legs AD = BC. • Prove: A = B (and C = D). • Hint: Through C, draw CE║DA (by the Parallel Postulate). • Bonus: Prove: A proper trapezoid’s diagonals cannot bisect each other. • Given: Proper trapezoid ABCD with diagonals AC, BD. • Prove: AC and BD do not bisect each other. • Hint: Use an indirect proof.

  6. Clean-up / Reminders • Pick up all trash / items. • Push in chairs (at front and back tables). • See you tomorrow!
