Vision In 2010, Birmingham will be recognised as a leading European Digital City where everyone is able to exploit the benefits of digital technologies to actively engage and participate in the information society. Birmingham will be positioned to compete globally for trade, investment and tourism that will be central to our global economic success

  3. The Challenge We still have a digital divide We still have around 300,000 people not online from home or not connecting We do have youngest population in Europe and one of highest % of EMG groups A city that by 2010 needs to be recognised as the digital city

  4. What do we want - 2010 Birmingham recognised as a digital city Users to believe ‘life is better’ with more power to access choices See digital access as a way to save money Know they can get connected in Birmingham

  5. What we need to do for 2010 Profile the city’s reputation Promote Birmingham through technological means Market the city as digital – “what’s in it for me” Develop and strengthen alliances to support delivery of campaigns and events Extending reach through partner channels and influencers
