  5. Curriculum • Balanced Literacy-Readers and Writers Workshop

  6. Common Core Math • Science-Electricity Weather/land forms • Social Studies: Indigenous People Immigration

  7. Homework • 30 minutes a night of reading and keep a record of pages read. • Math homework when not completed in class. (facts) • Various assignments throughout the year. Extra projects • Please initial homework book each day. • 50-60 minute homework limit

  9. Discipline Procedures • We live by the code: Be responsible Be respectful Be safe • Consequences for misbehavior ✔

  10. Supplies • Students may bring in their own colored pencils and thin markers • Snack/Waterbottle!!! • Fridays take home bottle to clean • PE clothes • Swimming

  11. Special Events/Highlights • Activity fair Friday, September 5th 3:30 • Fall BBQ-Sept 20th

  12. Student Eating Habits • We have a responsibility to help our students learn about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The Leadership Team agreed on the following guidelines: • Teachers will not use food as a reward for student performance or behavior in the classroom • We will only provide food in the classroom for students for special events or holiday celebrations • Primary age students (PK-2) will not be able to change a food choice that was made by a parent • Sweets will not be allowed to be purchased by students in the cafeteria during the school day • Students will not be allowed to go to the cafeteria to purchase items for snack time in the classroom • French Fries may only be eaten if they are part of the meal served for the day • Pretzels are not considered a full lunch, but may be purchased with a lunch
