FY 2018 President’s Request • Indian Affairs’ 2018 request is $2.488 billion, an overall decrease of $371.7 million below the 2017 enacted amount. • The 2018 Budget for the Operation of Indians Program (OIP) appropriation, a decrease of $256.8 million below the 2017 enacted amount. • Includes additional investments in infrastructure. • Maintains funding for energy development. • Prioritizes programs serving Tribes nation-wide and eliminates pilot programs that serve few Tribes.

  4. FY2018 Continuing Resolution On September 8, 2017, the President signed into law P.L. 115-56, making continuing appropriations from October 1, 2017 through December 8, 2017. • Covers a period of 69 days, which is 18.90 percent of the fiscal year.

  6. FY 2019 Budget Submission Indian Affairs submitted a proposed budget request to the Office of Management and Budget on August 28, 2017. • Continued focus on infrastructure and energy development. • Programs that serve tribes on a nation-wide basis. • Passbackis expected to occur after Thanksgiving.
