This study explores the evaluation of learning systems focusing on authentic use through the insights of Heather Richter and Gregory Abowd from the College of Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology. Key lessons include the importance of designing for evaluation, addressing instrumentation and system issues, analyzing data early, and evaluating the evaluation process itself. Supported by methodologies involving quantitative user logs and qualitative feedback from questionnaires, interviews, and observations, this research enriches understanding of user motivations and emerging practices in educational technology.
