ABC’s of the Universe

Embark on a cosmic adventure through the ABCs of the Universe, from Earth to black holes, comets, and dark energy. Learn about planets like Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus, as well as fascinating celestial phenomena such as faculae and quadranted meteor showers. Discover the role of gravity, telescopes, and wormholes in understanding the vast expanse of space. Delve into the mysteries of stars, including yellow dwarfs like our Sun, and explore how NASA and space missions shape our knowledge of the cosmos. Join us as we uncover the wonders of the universe!

  2. Atmosphere • Is a mixture of gases that surronds planetary objects.

  3. Black Hole • An invisible area in outer space that light cannot escape from.

  4. Comet Is a celestial body that orbits the sun.

  5. Dark Energy • The energy that expands the universe.

  6. earth • The land we live on. The third planet from the sun.

  7. faculae • The patches on the sun.

  8. GRAVITY • Is the force that pulls objects together. • It makes us not float into outer space.

  9. HALF MOON Looks like a half of a circle. It’s half of a full moon.

  10. Inner planets • Are the planets that are the closest to the sun. Examples are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.

  11. jupiter • The largest planet in our solar system. • It is a gas giant.

  12. Kepler-186f • A planet really similar to Earth. • Also about the same size.

  13. Laika • Was the first dog sent into orbit.

  14. MARS • Is the fourth planet away from the sun.

  15. nasa • A space station that sent the first man to the moon. Recently NASA’s facing budget cuts.

  16. OBERON • Is one of the larger moons of Uranus.

  17. pluto • A dwarf planet that’s the farthest thing in our solar system.

  18. quadrantid Is a meotor shower that happens every year through Dec. 8th– Jan. 7th.

  19. Radial motion • Is a motion towards the observer.

  20. STAR • Is a glowing ball of gas. Example: Our Sun is a star.

  21. telescope • Is a device that allows you to see far away objects like planets, moons, stars, etc.

  22. uranus • It’s the seventh planet from the Sun.

  23. venus • The second closest planet from the Sun. It is the hottest planet in our solar system.

  24. wormhole • A wormhole in space is a mathmaticalsolution to Einstien’s theory to General Realivity.

  25. X-RAYS • Are a type of electro-magenticradition.

  26. Yellow dwarf • Are small main sequance stars.

  27. ZODIAC • Is a brand of contillations.
