Profile • Sustainability Executive, Timber Trade Federation (TTF) • 150 UK timber processors, merchants and agents including Travis Perkins, Grafton group, Wolseley UK • 70% of timber imported and processed in the UK • Facilitating the implementation of the Responsible Purchasing Policy (RPP) • Independently audited risk management process • Progressively increasing the proportion of independently certified timber under FSC or PEFC sourced by TTF members. • Decrease risk of illegally sourced timber entering the supply chain

Training Manager Objectives • Focus on CBs • Ensure high quality consistent fishery & chain of custody assessment outcomes • Develop Training Strategy • Establish core CB / lead auditor / assessment team / peer reviewer competencies & competency assessment procedures • Induction & On-going Training (S&L issues) • MSC staff, governance bodies, external stakeholders

Core Competencies’ Development • CBs • Compliance with ISO Guide 65 (same as now) • Oversight of peer reviewers & assessment teams’ competencies (same as now) • Verified by ASI • Future compliance with ISO 19011? • Lead Auditors (subject to consultation) • Compliance with ISO 19011 for lead auditors (like FSC) • Lead auditor certificate for ISO 9001/ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001
