  3. Holly isn’t just a part of Christmas tradition, but it also has church history ties. This goes back to the crucifixion of Christ.

  4. The thorns on the holly bush represent the thorns on the crown of thorns. Isn’t that great class!

  5. Baby Nick says: Early Christians used the candles and the advent wreath as a sign of Christ.

  6. By the Middle Ages, the Christians adapted this tradition and used Advent wreaths as part of their spiritual preparation for Christmas.

  7. Paula says: Of course one of the main ingredients to an advent wreath is holly ya’ll!
