  3. What was the Earlier Life Like? • When she was younger she moved to Yonkers, New York with her mothers boyfriend. • Her family struggled with financial difficulties • Her mother died after she moved away with her aunt and started skipping school

  4. What was their adult life like? • By the 1980s she began to have health problems • She had heart surgery in 1986 • The diesis left her blind and they amputated both legs
