Under Philip II Golden Age Problems • Most flourishing period of history for a nation • Usually deals with the arts/literature • Examples in Spain: • Miguel de Cervantes – Don Quixote de la Mancha • El Greco – Art • portraits • Too much gold and silver (from Americas) • Inflation: consistent rise in price related to increasing volume of money  devalue of money • “Mo money, mo problems, y’all”
