CENTRAL OHIO STRENGTH AND SPEED REPRESENTATIVESwww.fit2play.comJEFF TURNER, MS Jeff@fit2play.com4660 Kenny Rd unit E, Columbus OH 43220 • 614.561.4222 About Jeff: Looking back it’s hard to remember a time when I wasn’t interested in sports. Growing up in southern California, I surfed and played baseball. I never made it to the Pro tour or MLB, but I had a blast.I started lifting weights around the age of 16, like most guys I wanted to look buff to get chicks. I’d love to say that I was focused back then, and that my training was all about increasing performance, but nobody did the stuff we do with athletes today.I knew this was my ‘passion’ and it provided me a laser-focus and a never-quit mindset to make it a career.Along the way, I met some guys who changed my life forever. They were some of the best sport scientists in the field — and they still are. After hanging with the docs for a short time, I came to realize how much I didn’t know. This started an educational process that has never ended for me. I went back to school, attended UCLA, studied exercise science and continued to work with my mentors.I learned to question current trends and training systems and determine if theory and application met as one. It was during this time that I learned how much “art” there is to the science of strength, conditioning and overall fitness.Over time, I developed a very successful training practice in Los Angeles working with individuals, corporations, high-level athletes and everything in between. From there it was to the North Shore of Oahu for a couple of years, and then in 1994, relocated to Columbus, Ohio.In 1996, I became the first Strength and Conditioning Coach in Major League Soccer for The Columbus Crew — culminating in 2002 by winning the US Open Cup.Today I spend most of my time with the “over 40″ time-crunched men and women. Some of them competed in high school and college sports and others are just getting started with fitness. I still work with teams and groups of athletes, but now I work with those who are a good fit with Fit2Play training.
