Touch the multimeter probes to the two  igniter terminals to do this. If the igniter is working properly, you should see a reading on the multimeter of between 0.5 and 1.0 ohms. Step 3 If you do not see a reading on the multimeter, or if the reading is outside of the normal range, this  indicates that the igniter is not working properly and will need to be replaced. Step 4 Once you have confirmed that the igniter is faulty, you can replace it by following the steps in your  oven’s manual. That’s it! Viking Ignitor Troubleshooting If you’re having trouble with your Viking Ignitor, you can do a few things to troubleshoot the issue. First, check to ensure that the ignitor is properly seated in the firepot. If it’s not, reseat it and  try again. Try cleaning the ignitor with a wire brush if that doesn’t work.
