  3. Belley is situated close to the Alps, near the borders with Italy and Switzerland.

  4. In France, you go to the high school at about 15 years old. In France, the high school has 3 different levels : • The “Seconde” for pupils between 15 and 16, • The “Première” for pupils between 16 and 17, • The “Terminale” for pupils between 17 and 18. • When you are like us 15 and 16, you haven’t yet got to choose specific subjects to study. • But after, when you are 16 and 17, you have to choose between sciences, social studies, literature, or management. • Then, when you are 17, 18, you’ve got such a big exam named “baccalauréat”. The “baccalauréat” or the “bac” is really important if later you want to go to university. So it’s important if you want to have a good job and earn money. It is the equivalent of graduating but that’s a little bit more difficult than it. • If you choose not to go to a high school like ours (a “lycéegénéral” or “lycéetechnologique”) you can go to a special one (a “lycéeprofessionnel”) to learn a job earlier.
