  2. 實證醫學的應用 • 最基本的內涵包括四大部分 • 找出病人所有的問題，並加以簡化、結構化出臨床的重要問題 • 正確且有效率的搜尋醫學文獻，去找出這些問題目前所知道的最佳證據 • 評估這些證據的可靠度 • 把這些證據應用到臨床照顧病人上，給予最好的治療

  3. 結論是否能應用於我的病人 • 我的病人是否與研究族群不同？ • 人口學特色、危險因子、初級/次級預防？ • 我的機構能提供這樣的治療/檢查嗎？ • 治療/檢查對病人的潛在益處及風險？ • 病人的價值觀及期望？ • 投藥方式、手術方式、遵醫囑性？ • 文化、社會、經濟及倫理考量？

  4. Practice (applicability) • If we believe it, does it apply to our patient? • Can it be applied to my patient? • 病患差異 • Can it be done here? • 風土(可運用的資源) • How do patient values affect the decision? • 民情(病患的偏好)

  5. Biologic Issues • If the treatment can work? • 同樣的治療應用在不同的病患族群是否有不同的反應 • 我們的病人與研究中的病人是否非常不同，以致於無法應用這個研究結果？ 

  6. Social and Economic Issues • If the treatment will work? • 這個治療適用於我們的診療環境嗎？ • 病患配合度？ • 醫療提供者(醫事人員、醫療單位、保險制度)的配合度與能力

  7. Epidemiologic Issues • How efficient the treatment will be? • 我們的病人是否有其他共病狀況可能改變治療的結果？影響有多大？ • 病人可能從治療中得到什麼好處或壞處？ • 經由治療而減少的不良後果是否比不治療有明顯的差別？
