Internet Safety Tips for Parents and Youth: Protecting Children Online

DESCRIPTION

The Washtenaw Area Council for Children is dedicated to preventing child abuse through education. With 93% of teens online and spending up to 45 hours weekly on media, it’s critical to understand the risks of internet use. Children may unknowingly share too much information, leading to long-term consequences. Our top 10 online safety tips help guide parents and youth in navigating these dangers. Key points include maintaining privacy, encouraging open conversations about discomfort, and knowing safe online spaces. For assistance, contact Amber Moore at (734) 434-4215 or visit washtenawchildren.org.
