Garden of Eden=paradise God puts man there to take care of it. In the middle was the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Man is free to eat from any tree except the tree of knowledge or will die.

  1. Garden of Eden=paradise • God puts man there to take care of it. • In the middle was the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. • Man is free to eat from any tree except the tree of knowledge or will die. • Serpent (most crafty of animals)=evil god teacher asks Eve why she can’t eat from the tree. • He says she won’t die but will be god-like. • Says God doesn’t want you to be as smart as him. • She eats it and shares it with Adam. Results of eating apple • They have knowledge of being naked and are afraid. • God curses serpent--makes the serpent crawl on his belly and makes him enemy of man. • Makes woman feel pain of childbirth. • Makes man work hard for his food. • Man will die. (They cannot eat from the tree of life and live forever.) • God banishes them from the garden. • He has angels and a flaming sword guard the tree of life.
