    • It helps you check that you really have covered your main point.

  • Comma splices galore:
    • You cannot join two complete sentences with only a comma in English.
    • Use a semi-colon, a period, or a coordinating conjunction (and, but, so)

  • Read your work out loud

    • Nice – horrible
    • A lot – imprecise
  • Make sure you are using the right word for the right occasion

    • Sensible= with good common sense, logical, appropriate behaviour
    • Sensitive = easily distressed, upset or harmed
