  1. Welcome to the High octane, High adrenalin World of sprintcar racing With more power than a modern day V8 Supercar but with only one-third the weight and racing on dirt oval tracks at speeds of up to 160 kph, Sprintcar Racing is “The greatest show on dirt.” Sprintcar racing is a total assault of the senses. To hear the roar of the 850 horsepower engines, smell the burnt methanol and feel the ground shake as 20 of the winged monsters race around a circuit you can see from one vantage point, is truly a unique experience. The large aerofoil wings provide down-force to assist the huge tyres in their attempt to grip the racing surface. The nature of open wheel racing allows for the entanglement of race cars and high flying accidents associated with this exciting form of motorsport. 850 horsepower, 1300 pounds (590kg), 20 drivers racing wheel to wheel on a dirt track oval at up to 160 kph. There is no second prize. Sprintcar Racing is Extreme Excitement!

  2. Dear Gentlemen, Thank you for the courtesy of taking the time to view this, our 2009/10 Rogue Racing /Daryl Clayden Motorsport marketing proposal , detailing some interesting new advances and ideas for the team in the up-coming speedway season. Firstly I would like to thank all of our associate partners for there backing and support last year. It was great to have so many supporters introduce themselves to the team at the race track and even on route to events. For those of you whom I haven't met, I look forward to meeting in the future at a racing event or possibly at a static display at your workplace. Daryl Clayden Motorsport is a Perth based professional Sprintcar racing team lead by myself, Daryl Clayden. As Western Australia's most awarded speedway team in our rookie 2000-2001 season, the team has evolved and grown and have continually raised our expectations and level of professionalism. With presentation being a top priority we are regularly receiving accolades in many forms with photos of the car even being used on season passes for the Kwinana motorplex last year. Sprintcars are unquestionably the most popular and exciting Motorsport category in Western Australia. With the power to weight ratio of a formula 1 race car and top speeds of 180kph (on an oval clay/dirt track) it is easy to see why over quarter of a million people came to the speedway including Kwinana motorplex and various country tracks to watch sprintcar race meetings featuring Rogue racing and Daryl Clayden motorsport. The 2008/09 Season was very eventful season for the team , with some great highs and some disappointing lows as there always seems to be in motorsport. On the high note we had several race wins at the highest level of World Series Sprintcars even winning the pole shootout and starting on pole for the final in front of some of the best drivers in the country and from the USA. The biggest low came 26 laps later while leading for over half the race, an ambitious move from another competitor sent The number 45 car headfirst into the concrete wall destroying almost every part of the car also putting myself out for 6 weeks to repair some broken bones. Not one to be put off very easily, the second race back from this monumental crash provided us with our first feature race win for the season, the coveted Christmas cup. Overall for the season we finished 14th outright , which wasn’t quite up to our expectations, although we missed 8 rounds due to injury and race car damage. Last season also saw a new first in sprintcar racing. Without a major Naming rights sponsor We actually turned the tables, and for the high profile King of the wings event at the Kwinana motorplex we sponsored a charity in Youth Focus. I feel it was a great success. With the on track exposure, many mentions over the public address system throughout the night, which is also beamed around the world via the internet, and a television interview that was broadcast on the popular fox sports program Chequered Flag. Con Migro From the Motorplex also conducted an interview with from youth focus at the event who later said that she was extremely pleased with the positive outcome and support from the whole night. The 2009/10 Season is going to be our biggest and best yet. The team has now expanded into racing not only the big 410 open powered sprintcar but we now also run 2 wingless sprints during the short breaks throughout the summer and in the off season. We have also refined our state of the art transporter come mobile billboard which has been designed for static displays and practicality in mind. The amount of race meetings have increased again this year, with the southern thunder series last year, several country tracks are negotiating with the sprint car entrants group to bring even more racing to the country tracks.

  3. The team is comprised of people experienced in many areas of motor racing and business providing a diverse range of knowledge allowing the team’s success both on and off the track. As a company director myself I understand the key aspects of running a large successful business and this is reflected in the business like approach myself and the team take when conducting activities relating to our racing. Daryl Clayden Motorsport is always on the lookout for new and innovative ways to promote the sport, team and sponsors and as such offers a tailored motorsport marketing package, which is very conscious of the goals of its partners. The team has an infrastructure of people dedicated to internet media (publishing of website and articles on other popular websites), marketing/public relations, interaction with our sponsors and financial control. Last year we started selling merchandise beginning with crew shirts, hats and stubby coolers, all of which were proving very popular and started showing us, and everyone else, just how admired the team is becoming. This coming year we Are preparing more merchandise such as t-shirts, postcards and posters to cater for a wider demographic. I would also like to encourage individual business owners/manages to involve us in special events, work functions, promotions and in store displays where ever possible. I would be personably available at any time to help with any request you may have. We sincerely believe that the contents of this proposal can define what the team has to offer and demonstrate a tangible benefit to your company, complimenting your existing advertising and marketing strategy. We look forward to discussing the opportunity with you further. Sincere regards Daryl Clayden Daryl ClaydenTeam OwnerDaryl Clayden Motorsport

  4. Thebenefitsofapartnership with Daryl Clayden MotorsportReaching the target marketAn association with an alternative and complimentary marketing medium can obtain many benefits. Through motorsport your company can obtain many advertising objectives that mainstream media (TV, radio, newspapers.) cannot provide, as it is very easy to press a button on the TV remote, turn the page of a newspaper or change a radio station.Captive, receptive audienceThe difference with a large motorsport audience is that they are captive and are at the venue because they want to be there, in addition television viewers of motorsport are transfixed on the action where your circulating billboard is. For this reason they will definitely see your message and furthermore will receive your brand awareness statement or logo in a positive and unobtrusive manner. You are not an ad in between the show; you’re a part of the show. Why be an add at the show When you can be part of the show!

  5. Value for moneyThis form of advertising is also extremely cost effective. Daryl Clayden Motorsports number 45 sprintcar received total television airtime of over 20 uninterrupted minutes in the 2008/2009 season including interviews and racing footage, on major free to air television networks and pay tv’s fox sports. The equivalent time allocated to 30-second television spots would require an investment in excess of $40,000. VersatilityAn association with Daryl Clayden Motorsport can fulfil many objectives, not only advertising. Listed below are some innovative alternatives offered by motorsport marketing:·        Enhancing brand loyalty / awareness·        Softening or Accentuating company image·        At store / on site static displays·        Corporate hospitality (corporate box at venue)·        Staff incentives (Free passes)·        Distribution of company promotional collateral (hats, stickers etc)·        Line of racing apparel with distinct company brandingDaryl Clayden Motorsport will be more than happy to accommodate any request for additional marketing support from your company, and your valuable input is welcomed and necessary to guarantee maximum attainment of objectives.

  6. Exposure to audience at venue and through media • ·At the Quit Kwinana Motorplex, Bunbury City speedway and Various other country tracks the annual attendance at sprintcar race meetings is approximately 250,000 with in excess of 18,000 people attending the Australian sprintcar titles at the Kwinana motorplex alone last season. • ·        Free to air television coverage of speedway via SBS Speedweek and Motorplex TV Series aired weekly, and major events covered on all networks sports programs. • ·        National PAY-TV coverage on Fox sports’ Chequered Flag program with replays through the week. • ·        West Australian and Sunday Times newspapers offer review and preview stories during the season and feature stories for state and national series events. • ·        National magazines Oval Express and Speedway Racing News have large circulation nationally and are core reading material for speedway fans. • ·        Internet websites such as sprintcarworld.com.au and seg.net.au have a large following and having photos and articles relating to Daryl Clayden Motorsport regularly published. • Clayden Motorsport own website updated on a regular basis with stories and photos from recent race meetings and off track news. • ·        Another much overlooked area is our race transporter seen by many thousands of motorists on our journeys to and from Kwinana and Bunbury. It is 42 feet long and 9 foot high which is a massive mobile billboard to display your logo or brand awareness statement.

  7. Daryl Clayden’s career achievements in motorsport Winning Australian title in go karts. Wild West series 360 sprintcar class champion 2001 Best presented car 2001 Rookie of the year sprintcar 2001 Qualifying on pole for World Series Sprintcars at Kwinana 2008 Winner Christmas cup 2008 Daryl Clayden has been racing for many years in all forms of motorsport, from Go karts (which he still does today for fun and fitness) to speedway sidecars and stockcars, even trying his hand at driving a NASCAR whilst in the US recently.Over the years he has won many titles in all of his racing. 8. A word from V8 Supercar driver Paul Morris “Driving a Sprintcar was a totally different experience to driving a V8 Supercar.” “It’s got more horsepower than you can handle and for steering you use the throttle, not the steering wheel, the steering wheel is more there for something to hold on to!” “To me it’s exciting and a challenge and I like the idea of just rocking up that night, unloading and racing and when you finish racing you have a couple of beers in the pits with the guys and then you pack up and go home.” “There’s no Nancy boys in it like there is in V8s, they get up to their arms in it and get on with the job.”

  9. Annual Investment in running a professional sprintcar team Initial investment in establishing race team (equipment) $500,000 The average annual investment in terms of running one racecar and team barring any major engine or Chassis damage are as follows: ·Hoosier racing tyres $11,000 ·Methanol fuel $2,640 ·Engine routine maintenance $3,000 ·Travel $4,500 ·Signage(constant renewal due to damage) $2,500 ·Team apparel $2,000 ·Research and development $2,000 ·Consumable components $5,000 ·Accident damage(incidental, not major) $5,000 ·Race nomination fees $2,200  ·Membership fees $750 (This can be almost doubled when running a two car team)
