Alumni Survey Results • 41% - Working in a new job at a new company • 27% - Returned to same job at the same company • 12% - received a promotion at same company • 16% - Attending school in my home country or the U.S. • 40% - Looking for work (may have a job but wan t something better) • 21% - Other: got new job, start building own company and keep studying; freelance workers; applying to go back to school

Alumni Survey Results • 34% - Participated in media interviews (newspaper, tv, radio, Internet) • 59% - Given presentations to community, neighborhood, school, or other groups • 35% - Participated in or volunteered at alumni events sponsored by the embassy or Fulbright Commission • 8% - Written articles in a newspaper or other publication • 49%- Taken a leadership role in your community (such as organizing activities or projects in your community)

  6. What projects should an alumni association work on? • give the Alumni career development workshops; help them find jobs • presentations at Egyptian schools to share our experience and improve student's skills • community service • English courses • Educational missions • Meetings to exchange our ideas • Try to transfer the knowledge of members to the country in effective programs. • Meetings between the alumni and the new candidates and let the alumni get involved in the selection for the new candidates • Help us to discover and support and develop the inventors in Egypt.

  7. What projects should an alumni association work on? • Set up a support unit with membership in each governorate to contribute with any NGOs or USAID projects training, consultation • Keep improving and updating the alumni skills • explaining to people how to start new business, how to be involved in the community • Awareness sessions on importance of understanding diversity and accepting differences. • Employment networking. Connecting with Different NGOs and development organizations to change the community • regular Alumni meetings, volunteer in Community service and fun activities such as camping

  8. What projects should an alumni association work on? • Literacy program, health care program, spreading awareness about how to manage diversity • Education Programming Helping people with disabilities • Help in making alumni network or Facebook page so Alumni can stay connected and help each other to find a job. • More training courses -Keeping in touch in a personal way -Help in finding suitable job opportunities to feel the benefits of the program and the my stay in USA. • Open ways in which we can help others and share the experience and knowledge we got in the U.S.

State Alumni launched the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) in 2011.  AEIF offers alumni of U.S. government-funded exchange programs the opportunity to address global issues on a local, national, regional or international level. Alumni were encouraged to submit proposals up to $35,000 USD in the following categories or combinations thereof: ·         Democracy and human rights; ·         Economic opportunity and prosperity; ·         Women’s empowerment; ·         Promoting a cleaner environment; ·         Food security; ·         Global health; and  ·         Outreach to marginalized communities.
