  3. Students read & responded to poems, book reviews, author interviews/statements of poetics in current issues of online poetry journals • Created a context for final class project, a journal issue Recent journal issues

  4. The students’ own creative & critical writings were prominent texts in the class • Process: Drafts, reflections, revisions • Product: Final journal issue Recent writing

  5. Authors visited our class, both in-person and virtually, via Google Hangout • Julie Joosten, a Toronto poet in town for a reading, visited gave students a writing assignment related to a process she used in writing her new book Visits
