CHEMICAL-ANALYTICAL CENTER Chemical-Analytical Center consists of: • Mobile Environmental Laboratory (MEL); • Testing Laboratory (Aktau). Testing Laboratory is accredited in accordance with the «ST RK ISO/IEC 17025-2007 - General requirements for competence of testing and calibration laboratories».
SCOPE OF ACCREDITATION OF MEL Objects of analysis: • Sample collection: drinking water, natural water (surface and groundwater), wastewater (before and after treatment); • Sample collection: ground (soilsand bottom sediments); • Atmosphericairof residential and sanitary protection zones; • Air of operational areas; • Industrial emissions in the atmosphere; • Emissions from motor vehicles.

SCOPE OF ACCREDITATION OF TL Natural,drinking andwastewater: • Sample collection, totalmineralization, pH, fluoride, sulfates, chlorides, phosphates, nitrates, nitrites, ammoniumnitrogen, COD, BOD5, petroleum products (hydrocarbons), phenolandphenol derivatives, organochlorinepesticides, volatileorganohalogencompounds, heavymetals, surface-activeagents (surfactants),polycyclicaromatichydrocarbons (PAHs), etc. Atmosphericairof residential and sanitary protection zones: • Sample collection, meteorological parameters, formaldehyde, phenol, hydrogensulfide, PAHs, aliphaticandaromaticamines, nitrogenoxideandnitrogendioxide, methanol, methylmercaptan, sulfurdioxide, dust, gamma-emittingradionuclides,etc. Atmosphericairand the air of operational areas: • Ozone, nitrogenoxides, hydrogensulfide, sulfurdioxide, carbonmonoxide, petroleumhydrocarbons (C12-C19), hydrocarbons (methane), methane, methylmercaptan, ethylmercaptan, phenols, formaldehyde, synopticparametersand etc.
SCOPE OF ACCREDITATION OF TL Soilsand bottom sediments: • Sample collection,Granulometriccomposition, pH (waterextract), carbonatesandbicarbonates, sulfates, chlorides, nitrates, calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium, hydrogen sulfide, petroleum products (hydrocarbons), phenolandphenol derivatives, organochlorinepesticides, polychlorinatedbiphenyls, heavymetals, polycyclicaromatichydrocarbons (PAHs), gamma-emittingradionuclides, etc. Production facilities of enterprises (workplaces): • Noise, vibration, light, electric field, magnetic flux density, intensity of electromagnetic field of industrial frequency, intensity of electrostatic field.
TESTING LABORATORY EQUIPMENT Basicequipment: • Gas chromatographs GC Agilent 7890 AMSD5975CandGC Agilent 7890 AECD and FID, Chromatec-Crystal 5000 • Liquidchromatograph (HPLC Agilent 1200), • AASwithhydride techniques and electrothermalatomisationproduced by Analytic Jena; • Microwave oven for soil and sediments samples preparationproduced by Analytic Jena; • Mass spectrometer with inductively coupled plasma (Agilent 7700x ICP-MS), • capillary electrophoresis instrument (Agilent 7100).
TESTING LABORATORY EQUIPMENT • Analytical SieveShakerАS200 control (Retsch), • AutomaticTitrator 905 Titrando (Metrohm), • SpectrophotometerПЭ-5300-ВИ, • Spectrophotometers HACH-LANGE DR/2800 • Instrument for water-steam distillationUDK 129, • Fluid analyzerAnion 4100,etc. Auxiliaryequipment: Analytical and technical balances, ice baths, sand baths, ultrasound baths, magnetic stirrers with heater, thermostat, heating stoves, ovens, heating mantles, laboratory refrigerators, etc.
STAFF • The laboratory employs 25 highly qualified specialists : leading chemical engineer, quality manager, HSE engineer, instrumentation and automation engineer, chemical engineers, chemists. • All the specialists have been trained at seminar «ST RK ISO/IEC 17025-2007 - General requirements for competence of testing and calibration laboratories» and «Features of accreditation of laboratories for ST RK ISO/IEC 17025-2007. Evaluation of measurement uncertainty». • All engineers, chemists and technicians have been trained at CIKV in Saint-Petersburg, Russia in methods of work using measuring instruments produced by «Agilent Technologies».
Quality Control Sampling: • Quality of laboratory utensils cleanness (ISO compliance, all containers are preliminary decontaminated in laboratory, test report is submitted), multiple-use equipment is decontaminated; • Blind sampling program, rinseate samples, replicate samples, blank sample, blank transportationsample; • Calibration and adjustment of instruments with use of second source materials (before and after measurements); • Quality certificates issued by manufacturers of chemical reagents (highly purified material, reagent-grade, analytical reagent) used for equipment decontamination or sample preservation; • Strict observance of SOP of sampling and equipment decontamination (deactivation) between sampling points location;
Quality Control Laboratory work : • Measuring instruments are registered in the RK Register and calibrated; • Quality Certificates issued by manufacturers of chemical reagents (highly purified material, reagent-grade, analytical reagent), used for testing; • Ready solvents expiration period shall not be longer than expiry period established by manufacturer; • Calibration and adjustment of instruments with use of second source materials; • Minimum number of initial calibration points is 5, linearity is determined by R2 factor; • During measurement process one point of calibration curve (median) is checked every 10 measurements (CCV); • In addition, blank sample (BLK) and laboratory control sample (LCS) are prepared.
