How to select the evaporator to suit your need?

The thin film evaporators are used in a wide range of processes. Food & beverages, chemical, pharmaceutical, pulp & paper, inorganic salts, acids, bases, polymer, and resins are the various processes where thin film evaporator is used. These are used in enhancing the stability and quality of the final product. It helps in the recovery of solvent from waste streams or process. It is used for volume reduction for lower carriage. It is recommended in the pre-concentration step for the final product drying or crystallization. <br>

  1. There are many different types of thin films evaporators offered in the market, but before choosing the best thin film evaporator, you need to understand the different characteristics of all the types. Have a look at the different kinds of thin film evaporator- The Vertical Agitated Thin Film Evaporator TFE/L - HV It contains a cylindrical, vertical and heated vessel along with a high-speed rotor which helps to maintain a thin film of the product against the fence in highly blustery conditions. This type of wiped film evaporator is best suited for general applications. This is L-type lobed rigid rotor (non- contacting) with fixed and precise clearance from the heated wall. It has moderate concentration ratios and a huge range of viscosity. http://www.ablazeglassworks.com The Vertical Agitated Wiped Film Evaporator TFE –HHV This is the most popular wiped film evaporator which consists of a cylindrical, starightl, heated container and a high-speed rotor. In this film evaporator, the product is pushed towards the bottom with the help of the non-contracting rotor with fixed toothed paddles. It helps in moving viscous material which doesn’t flow easily by gravity. It operates at a very high temperature (350°) The Vertical Thin Film Dryer EF/V This kind of film dryer has a general construction and similar dimensions as the Agitated Thin Film Evaporator TFE/L. Its wipers are not fixed properly and it usually touches the heated stator vessel. It has the high evaporation ratio; thus, its main application is drying out the material having high fouling tendency. In this type of film, the wipers are available in different materials and shapes. The Horizontal Thin Film Dryer EF/H This type of wiped film is mainly applicable for pumpable paste or mud. By changing the configuration of the blade along the length and the perimeter of the rotor, the vital residence time is controlled. The final product produced should be free-flowing, melts or pastes. The Short Path Evaporator SPE It is an Agitated Thin Film Evaporator TFE/P having a fixed condenser in the evaporation chamber which is mounted coaxially to the non-contracting rotor. As a result of this, there is a very short distance between the condensing and heating surfaces. The Short Path Evaporators the perfect solution for substances with molecular distillation and substances having a high boiling point, under extreme vacuum conditions. For this kind of applications, the pressure outside the condenser should not be dropped. In the multi-stage process, the SPE can be used as the final stage in the mixture with a thin film evaporator.
