Introduction • Technology has created opportunities for teachers to engage students in diverse ways. • Technology can make the learning process more efficient for instructors and students. • However, using technology does not automatically lead to increases in teaching effectiveness or student learning. • When is technology beneficial to the learning process?

4. Activity • Create an objective for a course you teach • What resources/references would you use when teaching students this objective? • How would you go about teaching the objective? • How would you assess student learning of the objective?

From Collecting to Connecting Data • We collect data on student learning at many levels • However, connecting data to course objectives and program goals is something that should be intentional as well • Technology can make connecting data from in class assessment to objectives to program goals more efficient • Are you using technology for the sake of using it or does it really add value to your learning process?
