  1. Team Meeting #15 – Wavefront Sensor(s) C. Baranec October 29th 2009

  2. HOWFS Status Summary • LabVIEW alignment GUI running • on lab computer • Optics assembled and tested • CIN 636 – HOWFS Alignment guide version 1.0 released • Final collimating mirror and cylindrical lens specified

  3. HOWFS P3K - HOWFS

  4. P3K - HOWFS

  5. P3K - HOWFS Show me the live lab demo!!! Live lab demonstration • Start the music… • Switch to remote desktop…

  6. P3K – HOWFS - s8

  7. P3K – HOWFS - s16

  8. P3K – HOWFS - s32

  9. P3K – HOWFS - s64

  10. P3K – HOWFS – Pupil imaging

  11. Analysis of current alignment • Alignment Req.: 1/20 pixel RMS, Goal:1/40 pixel RMS • Is this the right requirement? • Pupil size is what we expect to 0.2% • Pupil A/B ratio: 1.0170 (target) 1.016 ± 0.001(measured)

  12. HOWFS - Tasks Left • Order new optics, install, re-align • Test in white light • Testing of new CCD50 readout modes • Format • Noise • Internal compliance / flexure testing and validation • Integration into the testbed • Test pupil shift necessary for ‘s63’ mode • Testing closed loop AO with HODM!

  13. Thanks!!! Acknowledgement to the people that have helped (in major and minor ways): Antonin, Jenny, Khanh, Rich, Mitch, Kent, Chris, Tom Stalcup (Keck), Mark Milton (UA)
