  • United Way is taking a new step forward by getting at the root-causes of community needs in order to create lasting changes
  • It is a new role that proactively works on addressing and solving community problems

Mobilizing Communities – RESULTS TO DATE
  • In 2012, United Way piloted Mobilized Hartford, where business leaders met with community stakeholders to identify greatest needs
  • Two priorities were identified: 1st - to address at-risk youth and 2nd - to enhance the presence of social services in Hartford for those individuals who lack transportation
  • A New Middle School Program Started at Boys & Girls Club:
  • United Way Resource Center Opened in May 2013: Centrally located in Hartford that is available to nonprofits to utilize at no charge
