Thank you! • To MCSD Board of trustees for committing your support to the Middle College Program; • To the administration and staff for supporting the program and the efforts of the students; • To the parents for entrusting us with your children; and • To the students for your continued efforts. • Currently, there are 29 students enrolled in the Middle College Program: 13 Juniors and 16 Seniors. • These students are the “face” of McCormick High School. • This program is a stepping stone for McCormick students wanting to pursue higher education. Introduction

  3. Establishing high expectations for our students, the Middle College Coach serves as an: • Advocate • Counselor • Life Coach • Liaison Middle College Coach Roles

The 29 students in this year’s program are still adjusting to the changes associated with a new Middle College Coach. • Thus far, the year has been a positive learning experience. • We have decided to make text message/phone calls our primary source of communication. • The Piedmont Technical College professors and the McCormick High School teachers have been teaming up to provide tutoring opportunities for the Middle College Students. • The Piedmont Technical College Staff have been cooperative and eager to assist our students. McCormick Dual Enrollment Students

Middle College Students will exit high school having already earned college credits; some will enter the post-secondary institution-of-choice as first semester juniors. • Entering as a junior the estimated saving are significant: • Lander Tuition = 72,000 ( Four year including room and board ) • Estimated Average Savings = 36,000 • USC - Aiken Tuition = 72,000 • Estimated Average Savings =38,000 • USC – Columbia Tuition = 90,624 • Estimated Average Savings =45,000 • SC State Tuition = 77,048 • Estimated Average Savings = 38,000 • Clemson Tuition = 90,624 • Estimated Average Savings = 45,000 • Furman Tuition = 216,000 • Estimated Average Savings = 108,000 College Savings

Having met the early application deadlines established by many colleges and universities, Middle College Students are anxiously waiting the arrival of their acceptance letters. • 84 college applications have been completed. • We are looking forward to building on the successes of the past.
