Year 1 - 2010-2011 • District purchased smart boards for every classroom in the district (65) • New Desktop computers for every teacher (55) • Wireless Keyboards • Digital Slates • Clicker Systems • Professional Development • Focus on Reading and Math Instruction • Denver Colorado: Technology and Learning Conference • Visits to Carbondale and Erie

Committees • Altamont’s interchange at I-70 is full of shops, restaurants and hotels that attract travelers off the freeway and draws them into the community • Altamont has a flourishing parks and recreation program, with opportunities for all ages and high quality facilities, such as a golf course, biking trail, and pool to fit their needs.
Committees Continued • Altamont offers entrepreneurs, as well as new and existing businesses, programs and incentives aimed at helping establish, maintain and grow businesses • Altamont is a destination for entertainment with modern high quality facilities, including the Effingham County Fairgrounds, which attracts major concerts, performances, expositions, fairs and conferences
Committees Continued 5. Altamont is a family friendly community, where innovative and dynamic programs cater to the youth. Youth benefit from a wide variety of educational and character building programs in art, music, theater, crafts, leadership and more.
