  1. SyNatrol™ TC: Defined edible fruit extract of Terminalia chebula for extracellular matrix rejuvenation & protection of skin. Many of the biological activities reported for the water soluble extracts of TC is due to the presence of Chebulinic acid and Chebulagic acid. SyNatrol™ TChas been standardized mainly against the hydrolysable tannins. As we get older, collagen synthesis decreases and matrix metalloprotease (MMP) levels get elevated in human skin. Restoration of the collagen deficiency in aged skin by the stimulation of new collagen synthesis and by the reduction of MMP as seen with SyNatrol™ TCis the way to treat and prevent the clinical manifestations of both chronological- and photo-aging. Additionally, TC is an excellent broad-spectrum antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-glycation agent. It is quite conceivable to conclude that treatment of skin with SyNatrol™ TCcontaining formulated products has the power to bring the quest of eternal youth just a step closer. Terminalia chebula (TC)is a well-known Ayurvedic herb, especially the fruits. It is a small round fruit, brownish in color, historically used as a rejuvenator helping to normalize the general balance of the body. TC is one of the key ingredients in the widely known Triphala or “three fruits”, which is the most frequently prescribed herbal remedy in Ayurveda because of its unique ability to detoxify the body while at the same time strengthening and nourishing it. Among Tibetans, TC is highly revered for its purifying attributes, it is the small fruit that is depicted in the hands of the "medicine Buddha" in their sacred paintings. • Preventative Anti-Aging • Antioxidant: Broad-spectrum; Quencher of radicals & non-radicals • Anti-inflammatory: Inhibitor of LOX & down regulator of COX-2 expression • Anti-glycation: Preventer of non-enzymatic protein glycation. • Restorative Anti-Aging • Extracellular Matrix Rejuvenator: Collagen I & III stimulator; Hyaluronidase inhibitor • Extracellular Matrix Protector: MMP-1, MMP-2 & MMP-3 inhibitor; Antioxidant; • Anti-inflammatory & Anti-glycation Free radical scavenging performance vs. natural tocopherols Chebulagic Acid Chebulinic acid

  2. SyNatrol™ TC: Defined edible fruit extract of Terminalia chebula for extracellular matrix rejuvenation & protection of skin. SyNatrol™TC is 7 times more effective than Aminoguanidine • Glycation is a slow, nonenzymatic reaction between free amino groups in proteins and sugar such as glucose or ribose • An advanced glycation end-product (AGE) is the result of a chain of chemical reactions after an initial glycation reaction. • AGE affects nearly every type of cell and molecule in the body, and are thought to be one of the key factors in skin aging. • Regulatory • Noregulatory hassle due to water-based process • Natural extract status for REACH registration • in Europe & elsewhere; • China approved • Obtained from edible fruits of Terminalia chebula; Widely used in India Ref: Suzuki et al, Free Radic Res Commun, 17(3):211-217, 1992 Method of quantification: MMP-1: Quenched fluorescent gelatin as substrate at excitation/emission wavelengths at 485/530 nm MMP-2 & 3: Chromophoric reaction product (DTNB) at 405 nm p-value <0.01 Placebo p-value <0.01 Method of quantification: Assessed proteolytic activity of hyaluronidase by precipitating the non-digested hyaluronate with 5% cetylpyridinium chloride & measuring the related turbidity at 595nm. p-value <0.01 Method of quantification: Sandwich ELISA using affinity-purified antibodies Ref: Dobak et al., J Dermatol Sci, 8:18-24, 1994 The information given and the recommendations made herein are based on our research and literature search and are believed to be accurate but no guarantee of their accuracy is made.
