  1. Are YOU serious about Safety ? To date in 2002 there has been, 6 Lost Time Incidents & 55 injuries in Well Engineering (6 LTI’s or less is our target for the whole year !) There were 2 LTI’s in 2 days !

  2. Are YOU serious about Safety ? These are not just statistics ! Just think for a moment - a total of 61 people have been injured just doing their job. The results were Pain, Sorrow & Hardship, for those injured, their friends and their family!

  3. 2002 LTI No.1 03/01/02 MB Petroleum - Hoist 7 Floorman’s finger pinched between swinging pipe spinner and post - fractured bone.

  4. 2002 LTI No. 2 23/02/02 Midwesco Hoist-10 Man slipped whilst climbing down off a container bracket - tissue damage to heel.

  5. 2002 LTI No.3 25/03/02 Sea & Land - Rig 70 Floorman struck his fellow workers hand with a hammer, whilst attempting to remove a thread protector - broken finger .

  6. 2002 LTI No. 4 05/04/02 Hamdan/Schlumberger CTU 20 Hamdan helper lost 4 fingers between cable and trailer rear roller.

  7. 2002 LTI No.5 28/04/02 MB Petroleum Rig-29 Floorman dropped a hammer on his fellow floorman’s hand - broken bone.

  8. 2001 LTI No. 6 29/04/02 MB Petroleum Fahud Workshop Technician fell from a ladder and was struck by a heavy crossover which fell from the rack - cracked pelvic bone.

  9. Are YOU serious about Safety ? WHERE ARE WE GOING ? • 16 LTIs + 1 Fatality in Well Engineering during 2000 • 19 LTIs + 1 Fatality in Well Engineering during 2001 • ?? LTIs in Well Engineering during 2002 (6 in the first 4 months) WHY IS IT HAPPENING ? InadequateHazard Identification InadequateSupervision Inadequate Job Planning The Basics are not being done !

  10. Are YOU serious about Safety ? What are YOU going to do to make sure: • this does not happen to you ? • this does not happen to someone you work with ? Use the tools available and use them properly: - Tool Box Talks, Haz ID, STOP….. Think about : - what could go wrong - then make sure it doesn’t - how the things you do effects others - then make sure they don’t
