  3. Big Questions Q: Do I need a computer? A: Probably. Public computers are available, but you may want the ability to work from home. Both Windows and Macs work fine. Don’t buy software! It’s available online, or at 105 Bellefield Hall. http://www.pitt.edu/computer/ http://software.pitt.edu Q: Do I need a laptop? A: No, but they are convenient. If you are buying a new computer and can afford a laptop, you should seriously consider it. Q: Do I need a PDA? A: Not during your first two years, but you may want to use one for its organizer functions.

SEC Technology Committee • Two elected members per class • Act as advisors to the administration on technology-related issues • Act as a resource for medical students who need technology guidance • Help shape med school technology policy • Run classes for students and student groups regarding websites, PDAs, etc. • Responsible for taking care of lecture recordings…email the tech committee if interested (techcommittee@medstudent.pitt.edu)
