Directions on how to take an AR test • It’s a good idea to have the book with you so you have the correct information to select your test. • First, find and double click on the Accelerated Reader icon on your Lincoln Lion’s Desktop. It’s the Red “A” icon. • Select Student • Type in your AR username and password and click on Login

  3. Directions on how to take an AR test • Answer “NO” if you are asked if you want Internet Explorer to Remember this password. • Select “Take a Quiz” under the top blue tab to take a quiz or “View Report” to see the tests you’ve taken to date. • Select the top option, “Take a Reading Practice Quiz.” (You will not need to take Vocabulary or Literacy Quizzes.) • Select the middle option for title, “contains” and type carefully some key words from your book title and click on “Search.”

  4. Directions on how to take an AR test • You may find SEVERAL book titles that are close to the book title you are searching for. CAREFULLY pick the book you want to test on by clicking on that title. • Click on the bottom selection “Read Independently.” • The computer will ask you, “Are you sure you want to take this quiz?” and you select yes or no. Please see the book title information below before answering.

  5. Test will now load….. • Some of the primary books have 5 questions, but most quizzes have 10 questions. • You will click on the answer you choose. You may change your mind by selecting another answer until you click on “Next.” • Please see some sample questions on the following slide…

  8. Read the questions carefully, select the best answer

  11. Accelerated Reader Parent Email Notification • Electing for Email Notification is easy! See below: • Have your Mom or Dad go to the www.morton709.org website • Have them click on the Lincoln Lion Icon at the top • Scroll down and click on AR Home Connect • Enter your AR username and password for your parents (like you do when you take an AR test) • At the top of this screen, click on Email Set-up • Have your parents enter as many email addresses as they’d like to receive up to date notifications and scoring when you complete an AR test. • Make sure they remember to click on submit and check that email to respond to the verification email. After that, they will know instantly through an email when you’ve completed an AR test ! Great, huh?
