  2. What is eSRA? • Electronic Sponsored Research Administration system. • It will replace RAPID for proposals. • It provides system-to-system submission of applications to Grants.gov.

  3. What is eSRA? • It will provide a tool for award and contract administration not currently available in RAPID, which is primarily a financial system. • Will integrate with FMS for financial management. • Will integrate with the Budget Planning System for proposal development.

  4. What is eSRA? • LBNL purchased 4 modules from Huron for improved electronic processing. • IRB went live this spring • Grants • Phase I went live in June 2011 for NIH SF424 applications • Completion scheduled for fiscal year 2012. • IACUC to go live spring 2012 • COI to follow IACUC

  7. eSRA Full Life Cycle • Proposal Preparation & Submission • Pre-Award Just-in-Time Information & Negotiations • Award Integration with FMS • Post Award Management • Terms & Conditions • Reporting • Incremental and Supplemental Funding • Changes • Closeouts

  8. Automated Features • eSRA proposal creates the SF424 • Performs Grants.gov validations BEFORE submission • Automated routing & notifications • Electronic routing and approvals • Future integration with the Budget Planning System
