  28. Permission

  29. Permission Classes Permission Classes are a group of options developed by the modules and stored here on the Permission Class tab. They (Classes) can be added to users or site roles and control user access to the modules they were created by.

  30. Permission Classes This is the Permission Class tab it receives Permission Classes from other modules Systems and Catagories are sent via XML, and invisible to the end user.

  31. Permission Classes The User selects the new icon to create a new permission class. They then enter an ID and name for their permission class Modules that have Categories will be listed here.

  32. Permission Classes When the user chooses a system, then the Categories for that system display Don’t forget that Permission Class tab is not the same thing as Permission Class in ASCII Security

  33. Permission Classes Then the user selects a category Boy, those Key1 labels created under task SCC1-92224 really come in handy!

  34. Permission Classes The Logic Type can be Positive or Negative. Positive will allow permission and Negative will restrict permission

  35. Permission Classes Then the user selects the green plus to add a line to the permission class

  36. Permission Classes Depending on the Category that is selected, functions for that category will display in the functions list.

  37. Permission Classes The user selects a function from the list and then enters a value into the Key1 field

  38. Permission Classes The values that are entered in to the Key1 field are going to change with each category. If the category is Order- Region/Depot then user will enter an Depot ID in this field.

  39. Permission Classes Ok, so lets say I chose the Test Department category. What would my Key1 values be then? Your Key1 Values would be the Department ID. They change for each category and you need to remember them from setup as there is not a look up in this field.

  40. Permission Classes We then enter the Ward ID in to the Key1 field which is labeled here with Ward ID at the Order Level. This tells us just what we need to enter.

  41. Permission Classes The categories can not be added by end users

  42. Permission Classes Functions must be designed and implemented by their modules. They can not be added by Commons or end users.

  43. Permission Classes The user then selects the Save icon to save the permission class

  44. Permission Classes I’m still not getting this can we see some examples?

  45. Permission Classes Ok, we have a user that we only want to have access to the ER. The ward ID is JER and this is the only ward that the user needs access too. Ok, so I select the new icon enter an ID and name. Then I select a System on the left side of the Permission Class tab

  46. Permission Classes The Order-Ward category is selected. Next we select the green plus to add a new line

  47. Permission Classes Next we select the Function dropdown and choose the function that we want.

  48. Permission Classes We then enter the Ward ID in to the Key1 field which is labeled here with Ward ID at the Order Level. This tells us just what we need to enter.

  49. Permission Classes We then assign this permission class to a user record.

  50. Permission Classes Wow, only the JER ward is displaying
