The Anglo-Saxon period was marked by pagan beliefs centered around a polytheistic religion that revered various gods and goddesses, with rituals connected deeply to nature. Woden, Thunor, and Fero were significant deities associated with death, storms, and love. As Christianity spread to Britain in the 6th century through figures like Saint Augustine, many Anglo-Saxons converted, leading to a notable shift from polytheism to monotheism. This transition was accompanied by contrasting beliefs about magic, nature, and rituals prevalent among Pagans and Christians.
